Paul Mohror Launches Candidacy for Fargo School Board Election

BREAKING: Paul Mohror has officially declared his candidacy for the Fargo Public Schools Board of Education, kicking off the race for one of five available positions in the upcoming election on June 9, 2025. Mohror, the first candidate to file paperwork, made the announcement on February 23, signaling a pivotal moment for local education governance.

In a statement, Mohror expressed his commitment to enhancing academic proficiency while ensuring fiscal responsibility. “I’m running for school board to help ensure thoughtful decision‐making, transparency, understanding, and a strong focus on student success,” he stated. His vision aligns with a collaborative effort alongside the newly appointed superintendent.

Mohror, a long-time Fargo resident of 23 years, has raised two daughters who are both graduates of Fargo North High School. He is currently the Republican chairman for District 21, which covers a significant portion of the Main Avenue corridor. Notably, Mohror previously ran for the Fargo school board in June 2024 but was not elected.

The current board positions up for election are held by Melissa Burkland, Katie Christensen Mineer, Greg Clark, Nyamal Dei, and Robin Nelson. These four-year terms will play a crucial role in shaping the future of education in Fargo.

Candidates interested in running can submit applications until 4 p.m. on April 6, 2025. An information session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on March 3 at the District Office located at 700 Seventh St. S. in Fargo. This meeting aims to educate potential candidates on the responsibilities and expectations of school board members.

As the election date approaches, the Fargo community will be watching closely to see how the candidate lineup develops and what impact it may have on local educational policies. Stay tuned for further updates as this story unfolds!
