Provo Man Arrested on 12 Felony Charges for Sending CSAM

URGENT UPDATE: A 32-year-old Provo man, Josue Daniel McBride, has been arrested and is facing 12 felony charges after allegedly attempting to entice an undercover officer posing as an adult male with a teenage nephew. The arrest was made by the Lehi Police Department on November 10, 2025, and McBride is currently being held without bail in the Utah County Jail.

This disturbing case highlights a significant threat to children and raises alarms about online safety. Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant against such exploitation and to report any suspicious activity.

According to court documents, McBride engaged in conversations with the undercover officer on a Reddit forum designed for adult interactions. The officer’s post, which utilized emojis recognized by law enforcement as indicative of sexual attraction to minors, led to a direct message from McBride that also referenced child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Details of the communication reveal that McBride expressed interest in the officer’s alleged 13-year-old nephew, even inquiring about explicit photos. In a chilling exchange, McBride reportedly offered to share videos of boys in exchange for pictures and discussed graphic sexual acts.

“I want to have sex with the nephew,” McBride allegedly stated in a message to the undercover officer.

The undercover officer sent an age-regressed image that appeared to show a clothed minor, prompting McBride to send explicit images and videos of children, including one estimated to be as young as 10 years old. This ongoing dialogue escalated to a point where McBride requested additional nude images and attempted to set up a meeting with the officer.

Detectives apprehended McBride as he exited his workplace, concluding their investigation into the disturbing online exchanges. He now faces serious charges, including two counts of enticing a minor, four counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, and various other counts linked to the distribution of pornographic material.

Authorities remind the public that all accused individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This case serves as a critical reminder of the ongoing battle against child exploitation and the importance of reporting suspected abuse.

The Lehi Police Department encourages anyone with information related to child exploitation to contact the ICAC Tip Line at (801) 281-1211 or their local law enforcement agency.

As the investigation continues, community members are urged to stay informed and proactive in protecting vulnerable populations. This incident underscores the urgent need for awareness and action in combating online predation.
