Queens Shooting: 24-Year-Old Shot Dead, Suspect Still at Large

URGENT UPDATE: A 24-year-old man was fatally shot in front of stores in the Rockaways area of Queens on Tuesday night, and police are actively searching for the suspect. The shooting occurred just after 6:40 p.m. on December 30, 2025, at 289 Beach 14th St. Detectives from the 101st Precinct are on high alert as they investigate this tragic incident.

Witnesses reported hearing gunfire, prompting a 911 call that sent officers rushing to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and arm. He was quickly transported to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the victim’s identity, pending notification of family members. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear as police continue their investigation. As of now, no suspects have been arrested, and the NYPD has not released any descriptions of the shooter or shooters involved.
