UPDATE: A fire broke out in northwest Rochester last night, leading to one person being hospitalized. The incident occurred at 10 p.m. on December 31 at 3639 Nottingham Dr. NW, according to a statement from the Rochester Fire Department.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find smoke and flames visible from the front of a split-level home. The fire was quickly determined to be primarily concentrated in the front entryway, with some extension into other areas of the residence. The fire caused significant smoke damage throughout the structure, particularly affecting the front entryway and living room.
One occupant of the home sustained burn injuries and was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys for evaluation. Emergency services from the Rochester Police Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and conducting a thorough assessment of the damage. Residents in the area are advised to remain alert as cleanup efforts continue.
