Diners Experience Unique Cuisine at Osaka’s Sky Restaurant

A unique dining experience has recently launched in Osaka, Japan, allowing guests to enjoy meals suspended from a crane 130 meters above the ground. The “sky restaurant,” called Dinner in the Sky, is located at the Nakanoshima Gate South Pier in Nishi Ward and will be open until December 28, 2024. This innovative culinary event originally began in Belgium in 2006 and has since expanded to over 65 countries, including the United Kingdom and India.

Dinner in the Sky has gained popularity worldwide, hosting more than 10,000 events since its inception. This Osaka installation follows a successful run in Tokyo from March to May 2024, marking it as the second location for this aerial dining experience in Japan.

Guests are seated at a table designed for 22 diners, each secured with seat belts for safety. The dining session lasts for 30 minutes, during which participants can indulge in light meals and a selection of alcoholic beverages. The platform is lifted by a crane, providing an exhilarating view of the surrounding area.

Reservations are required to experience this extraordinary setting, with the first of six daily sessions commencing at 16:00. Prices for the event range between 22,000 yen (approximately $142.55) and 28,000 yen, depending on the selected package.

This thrilling dining concept continues to capture the interest of locals and tourists alike, promising not just a meal but an unforgettable adventure in the skies of Osaka.
