East Grand Forks Police Auctioning Vehicles, Including Three Squad Cars

The East Grand Forks Police Department is conducting an online auction featuring three former squad cars alongside six vehicles that have been seized due to impaired driving or drug-related offenses. This initiative allows the community to bid on these vehicles, which include a mix of recent models and older cars.

Among the vehicles available for auction are a 2022 Ford Explorer, two 2021 Ford Explorers, a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, a 2010 Dodge Challenger, a 2006 Volkswagen Passat, a 2005 Nissan Murano, and a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There are also bundles of bicycles and scooters included in the auction.

How to Participate in the Auction

The auction commenced at 10:00 a.m. on December 2, 2023, and will remain open until December 16, 2023. Bidding will close at various times throughout the day, ranging from 2:00 p.m. to 7:50 p.m.. Interested bidders can view the available vehicles by visiting www.GovDeals.com/EastGrandForksMN. To place a bid, participants must register on the auction website.

The vehicles can be inspected in person at 520 DeMers Ave. in East Grand Forks. However, the police department has noted that staff will not be available to open or start any of the vehicles during the viewing period. The online listings provide comprehensive details, including vehicle mileage, title status, and the reasons for seizure, ensuring transparency for potential bidders.

This auction not only offers an opportunity for individuals to acquire vehicles at potentially lower prices but also aims to address those incidents of impaired driving and drug offenses that led to the seizure of these cars. The East Grand Forks Police Department encourages community engagement through this auction and hopes it serves as both a resource and a reminder of safe driving practices.
