JetBlue Expands Domestic Routes: Longest Flights Revealed

JetBlue Airways is enhancing its domestic flight offerings with several long-haul routes that connect the East Coast to the West Coast of the United States. As of October 2025, the airline operates six domestic corridors that exceed a distance of 2,500 miles, primarily using its Airbus A321 aircraft. These routes reflect the airline’s commitment to providing extensive connectivity within the U.S., despite a growing international network.

Boston to San Francisco: The Longest Route

The longest domestic flight operated by JetBlue originates from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), traveling to San Francisco International Airport (SFO). This route covers an impressive distance of 2,704 miles (4,351.7 km). In October 2025, JetBlue has scheduled 149 outbound and 148 inbound flights, averaging between three and six round trips daily. The majority of these services utilize the Airbus A321-200, which features 143 economy and 16 business class seats. Some flights on this route also employ the A321LR variant, which offers a layout of 24 business and 114 economy seats.

The significance of this route was highlighted by John Martin, the Director of San Francisco International Airport, at its launch in 2007. He remarked, “Just as SFO is committed to providing our travelers with unsurpassed safety, security, and customer service, JetBlue has created a brand that is synonymous with first-class customer service at an outstanding value.”

Other Notable Transcontinental Routes

JetBlue’s second-longest domestic route also departs from Boston, heading to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This journey spans 2,611 miles (4,202 km), with 142 outbound and 141 inbound flights scheduled for October. Most of these flights are operated by the Airbus A321-200, which has a staggered configuration in its Mint business class, alternating between a 2-2 layout and a more spacious 1-1 ‘throne’ setup.

The third-longest route from Boston connects to San Diego International Airport (SAN), covering 2,588 miles (4,165 km). JetBlue has planned 89 round trips this month, with services generally operating three times a day. All flights on this route are carried out using A321-200 aircraft, with some versions configured for all-economy seating.

Further extending its reach, JetBlue operates routes from New York JFK Airport as well. The fourth-longest route connects New York to San Francisco, measuring 2,586 miles (4,161.8 km), with flights scheduled four to six times daily. Additionally, a route from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to San Francisco measures 2,583 miles (4,156.9 km) and is serviced twice daily on most days.

Finally, JetBlue’s sixth-longest domestic route links New York JFK with Sacramento (SMF), covering 2,500 miles (4,023 km). This route operates daily until October 25, 2025, utilizing all-economy A321-200 aircraft, which feature a mix of standard and ‘Even More Space’ seats.

JetBlue’s strategic focus on these extensive domestic routes underscores its commitment to connecting major cities across the United States while enhancing the traveler experience with its modern fleet and customer-centric service.
