Local Community Delivers Holiday Joy with KLUC Toy Drive Success

The 27th Annual 98.5 KLUC Chet Buchanan Show Toy Drive has achieved remarkable results, bringing joy to families in need across Las Vegas. Running from December 4 to December 15, 2023, the initiative successfully gathered donations from the local community, filling 40 trucks with new toys, including an impressive 6,792 bicycles. Additionally, monetary contributions reached a total of $792,430, reflecting the community’s commitment to supporting families during the holiday season.

This year’s toy drive was made possible through the collaboration of local residents and businesses, including significant contributions from partners such as Credit One Bank, Centennial Toyota, Naqvi Injury Law, and the Las Vegas Aces. Notably, Claggett & Sykes and Terribles made substantial donations, marking the largest gifts in the history of the event.

Fuilala Riley, president and CEO of HELP of Southern Nevada, expressed gratitude for the community’s unwavering support. “HELP of Southern Nevada extends its sincere gratitude to Chet Buchanan, Mikalah Gordon, the Audacy team, and our incredible Southern Nevada community,” Riley stated. “Year after year, this community comes together to support families in need—preserving holiday traditions and helping them begin the new year with hope.”

The success of the toy drive is directly reflected in its impact. All bicycles, toys, and gift cards were distributed to 1,554 households and 116 local non-profits, community groups, and churches throughout Southern Nevada. This outreach not only brings joy to children but also strengthens community bonds during the festive season.
