15 Stolen Guns, $25K in Property Recovered After Alaska Burglary Bust

Massive Haul of Stolen Guns and Property Recovered Following Anchor Point Burglary

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A routine burglary arrest exploded into a major recovery of stolen goods including 15 firearms and property valued above $25,000, according to the Alaska State Troopers. The latest developments reveal a growing investigation into the theft and distribution of weapons and valuable items in the Anchor Point area.

On April 26, law enforcement responded to a report of a suspicious person inside a residence on Kutafya Road. Officers discovered Cerina P. Richards, 29, hiding under household clutter. After her arrest on first-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft charges, the investigation quickly escalated.

Richards reportedly claimed she was dropped off by a man who said the residence was his uncle’s and that she was there to clean it. Authorities have linked that same man to the broader theft operation. A few days later, on May 4, a search warrant at a separate home on North Fork Road uncovered a disturbing volume of stolen items.

Explosion of Evidence: Guns, Tools, and More

At the North Fork Road location, Alaska State Troopers seized 15 stolen firearms encompassing pistols, rifles, and shotguns, alongside collectible coins, commercial-grade tools, and fishing equipment. The total estimated value of the recovered property exceeds $25,000.

Wade L. Wunderlich, 23, residing at the second property, faces multiple theft charges including 15 counts related to the stolen firearms and a first-degree theft charge. Court documents detail that Wunderlich received the stolen items from the same unidentified man connected to Richards’ case. Authorities say Wunderlich admitted suspicions that the property was stolen and even reported receiving threats after Richards’ arrest.

Ongoing Manhunt for Central Figure

Though two suspects are now charged, a third individual remains at large and unnamed in court records. Statements tie this third party to orchestrating the distribution of stolen goods. Troopers confirm the investigation is active, with further charges possible as the case unfolds.

Public Safety and Community Impact

The recovery of stolen guns – especially such a large number – raises serious concerns about firearm safety and illegal weapons circulation in Alaska. Some of the seized firearms matched the descriptions from victims, including personal property linked to a victim’s late husband, increasing the emotional weight of the case.

Law enforcement officials urge anyone with additional information to come forward as they continue piecing together the full scope of this theft network.

Next Steps and Legal Proceedings

Cerina P. Richards and Wade L. Wunderlich remain in custody, with their charges representing serious felony-level allegations. Both deny any wrongdoing and are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. Authorities expect further legal developments and additional charges to arise as the investigation deepens.

This case also underscores the ongoing challenges that law enforcement faces combating property crime and illegal firearms trafficking in the region. With over two dozen stolen guns recovered, the risk to public safety was significant.
