The Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) is set to pass through Downtown Nashville on the morning of June 13, 2026, as part of theFinal Leg leading into the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. This coast-to-coast journey, sponsored by Jersey Mike’s Subs, carries the symbolic Flame of Hope on a historic route uniting law enforcement and athletes across the nation. Nashville’s role in this momentous event highlights the city’s commitment to inclusion and empowerment for athletes of all abilities.

The Flame of Hope will begin its pass through downtown Nashville at 10:30 a.m. ET, concluding with an official ceremony at 11:30 a.m. at Bridgestone Arena Plaza. Spectators are encouraged to line the streets and support the torch carriers as they continue toward Minnesota, the host state for the 2026 Games set for June 20-26. The Special Olympics event will feature over 3,000 competitors, including 118 athletes from Tennessee, contending in 16 Olympic-style sports.

This is the final leg of the LETR’s extensive journey that began in Chicago, the birthplace of Special Olympics. The Flame of Hope will travel along two parallel routes across the East Coast and West/Central regions before converging in Minnesota. Covering roughly 10,000 miles and crossing 13 states and multiple time zones, this run showcases unity and dedication by a national team of 73 members, comprising 53 law enforcement officers and six Special Olympics athletes.

Nashville’s torch carriers include local law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes who have been specially selected for their outstanding dedication and leadership within the LETR community. Their participation underscores the deep partnership between officers and athletes that defines this movement.

“It’s an honor for Nashville to be part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run’s Final Leg to the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games,” said Adam Germek, President and CEO of Special Olympics Tennessee. “This Torch Run represents the strong partnership between law enforcement and Special Olympics athletes, and it sends a clear message that inclusion belongs in every community.
